Recently, the National Science&Technology Department Torch High-tech Industry Development Center announced the National Torch Plan Item of 2006. There set up 133 items this year. Gansu province has 2 of them. One of the two is Huayuan’s “Microwave Extraction, Microwave Drying”.

The Torch Plan is a guiding plan. It is authorized by the Party Central Committee and State Council in August,1988. It is organized and carried into execution by the Science&Technology Department(originally called National Science Committee) driving for accelerate the forms and development of high-tech industry. The basic tenet of the Torch Plan is to carry through the general policy of reformation, opening to the outside world, making it flexible so as to bring the power of our country’s science and technology advantage into full play to accelerate the merchandizing of the high scientific and technical payoffs, the industrialization of high-tech commodity and the internationalization of high-tech. The main technology development field of the Torch Plan includes the following: new-type material, biological technology, electronics and information, mechanotronics, new source, high efficiency and environment-friendly and other high-tech fields.
